Featured Panelists: 

Darcie Green:

Darcie Green is a community organizer, public servant, and health justice leader with 20+ years of experience advancing equity through women-led, community-rooted work in healthcare and public policy. She is Executive Director of Latinas Contra Cancer, leading patient-centered programs that elevate Latina voices and strengthen access, dignity, and accountability in healthcare.

Darcie has served in elected and appointed roles, including President of the Santa Clara County Board of Education and on the County Commission on the Status of Women. Her leadership sits at the intersection of racial justice, healthcare, and gender equity—building community leadership and advancing practical, people-powered solutions.


Supervisor Betty Duong:

Supervisor Betty Duong represents more than 400,000 residents on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, serving District 2—including Downtown San José, the East Side, South Side, Japantown, and the Little Saigon, Little Italy, and Little Portugal communities.

The daughter of Vietnamese refugees, Betty is the first Vietnamese American and among the first Asian American women elected to the Board. A graduate of UC Berkeley and UC Davis School of Law, she previously served the County in multiple leadership roles and led the successful Measure A affordable housing campaign—securing a $950M bond that has helped finance nearly 5,000 affordable homes. She lives in San José with her husband, Khai, and their two children.


Lisa Pesta:

Lisa Pesta was appointed President and CEO of Meriwest in January 2023. Ms. Pesta has been in senior leadership roles in financial services for over 20 years. She joined Meriwest Credit Union, directing the human resources, training, and facilities functions, in 2000. In 2013 she was promoted to SVP, Chief Operating Officer in charge of Digital Strategy & Engagement, Retail Operations, Operational Support, Marketing, HR/Training and Facilities. In 2022, Ms. Pesta was named Executive Vice President. 

Ms. Pesta is recognized for her diligence in helping steward the credit union through the financial and emotional turmoil of the pandemic, As an advocate for our 80,000+ members, Ms. Pesta was essential in the implementation of the ‘Meriwest Merit Rewards’ program, designed to enhance financial benefits and deepen member relationships. 


Currently, Ms. Pesta is a board member for CUSIG (Credit Union Self Insurance Group). Ms. Pesta is a board member for CUSIG CUHB (Credit Union Health Benefits, a cooperative) and is the Past President of the Board of Directors for the Human Resources Directors’ network. 


Previously, she was employed by COVAD Communications as an HR Business Partner, Leasing Solutions as the Vice President of Human Resources, where she was the youngest vice president and at the Law Firm Gibson, Dunn, and Crutcher employed in their business department. 

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in leadership and organizational development from St. Mary’s College.


Keisha Browder:

Keisha Browder oversees UWBA's staff, resource development, programmatic,

and financial operations while leading strategic partnerships in the community and

execution of UWBA’S Strategic Plan. A courageous leader who adeptly navigates challenges while seeking out opportunities to pave the way for marginalized

communities, Keisha is the first Black chief executive for the organization since its

founding more than a century ago. 


Prior to joining UWBA, Keisha served in various roles at United Way of Santa Cruz County including CEO, Director of Development and Marketing and Associate Executive Director. Keisha also served as the Resource Development Director for Trident United Way in Charleston, South Carolina and led Development and Marketing for various Girl Scouts Councils including Georgia, Illinois and South Carolina. Her 25-year nonprofit experience includes leading initiatives ranging from youth wellbeing to the Community

Assessment Project that have earned national recognition for their equity-centered

approach to creating a culture of health. 


She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, and is a graduate of the University of Washington and Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business Nonprofit Management Institute. Keisha and her family are proud to call the Bay Area their home where they enjoy the great outdoors, the innovation, and the serenity of peace.
